Maenam Village

Hainan sailors settled first on Koh Samui. This temple in Maenam attributes to the Chinese heritage.The small, sleepy town Maenam on the north coast of Koh Samui is still a witness of the original character of the island. The consequences of the tourism boom since the 1990s have spared this part of Samui. So it happens that at the heart of the classic fishing villages like Maenam old wooden houses still resist the change of mass tourism until the modern day. Of course, there are some fine luxury hotels next to a number of budget-priced bungalows and restaurants which offer a range of alternatives.
